There is more than one way to approach this problem .
Using unit rates would be an option. If you determine how much ribbon would be needed for 1 frame (the unit rate), then you would just need to multiply by 20 for all of the frames. Let's use the variabke x to represent the ribbon needed for 1 frame:
3/5 yar = x
7 frames 1 frame.
Divide the numerator and denominator by 3/5 to find the amount of ribbon needed for 1 frame:
3/5 divided by 7 is 3/35 . Each frame requires 3/35 yards of ribbon.
Fir 20 frames, multiply 3/35 by 20:
3/35 * 20 = 12/7 yards needed for all frames.
Note - 12/7 yards is equivalent to 1 and 5/7 yards.
