Given a point, (x, y) = (3, 2) and a slope (m) of 4
Start with y = mx + b which is the slope-intercept form for the equation of a line.
Replace y with 2, m with 4 and x with 3 and we get
2 = 4(3) + b,
Now solve for b
2 = 12 + b
Subtract 12 from both sides
-12 = b
So the required equation is y = 4x - 12
