Help please. It’s hard

Anna is riding her bicycle on the hike and bike trail around Village Lake. She rides 35 minutes and travels 8 1/3 miles. She then takes a 10 minutes rest. After resting (and eating an energy bar) she rides another 50 minutes and covers 15 1/3 miles. What was her average speed for the entire trip in miles per hour? (include the time she rested in the answer)

just add up total miles,

add up total time,

convert minutes to hours

divide miles by hours

Total 23 2/3 miles in 95 minutes

= 71/3 miles in 95/60 hours

distance = rate of speed times time

speed = distance divided by time (71/3)/(95/60) = about 23.666.../1.58333. = about 14.95 mph

r = (71/3)/(95/60) = (71/3)(60/95) = (71/)(20/95) = (71/)(4/19) = 284/19 mph

average speed = 284/19 mph = 14 18/19 = about 14.95 mph

average speed is almost 15 mph
