1 molecule of glucose produces a net of 2 ATP. This is because in the first half of glycolysis, 2 ATP molecules are consumed by the reactions. Then in the second half of glycolysis, 4 ATP molecules are produced. This leaves us with a net gain of 2 ATP molecules.
