Math, microeconomics or criminal justice
area = bh/2
perimeter = base + height + hypotenuse
(6(x-2))/2 = x+x-2+6
3x -6 = 2x +4
x=10
dimensions are 6 by 8 by 10 feet
6^2 + 8^2 = 10^2
36 + 64 = 100
graphically construct 3 squares, with sides 6, x and x-2
draw them on the same graph as the triangle, using the triangle sides as sides of the 3 squares
one square adjoins the triangle to the right sharing the side = 6 feet
another square adjoins the triangle below sharing the side x-2
the larges side adjoins the triangle to the upper left sharing the side x
calculate the area of each square: 6^2, x^2 and (x-2)^2
x^2 = (x-2)^2 + 36
x^2 = x^2 -4x + 4 + 36
4x =40
x = 10
x-2 = 8
sides are 6, 8 and 10
