Gauss was a child prodigy. He was maybe in the 3rd grade when his math instructor wanted to give him a math problem to keep him busy for a while. So he asked young Gauss to sum the numbers from 1 to 100. Gauss immediately gives the answer: 5050
The instructor was in shock, how did he do it. It's now known as Gauss' formula for the sum of n consecutive integers: n(n+1)/2. for n=100 100(101)/2 = 50(101) = 5050
I don't know Wyzant's policies but they should allow virtually any age to tutor if they know the subject material well enough. Especially if you're another Gauss. You're best subject to tutor might be the course you're taking right now or just finished, with an A+ or nearly A+.
