In order to begin with S8 and end up with SO3, the reaction would probably be the following:
S8(s) + 12O2(g) ==> 8SO3(g) ... balanced equation
molar mass SO3 = 80.06 g/mol
molar mass S8 = 256.5 g/mol
Use dimensional analysis to solve...
50 g SO3 x 1 mol SO3 / 80.06 g x 1 mol S8 / 8 mols SO3 x 256.5 g S8 / mol = 20 g S8
