We have endocannaboid receptors in our brain which helps with the binding of THC and CBD molecules. Once binded, these molecules modulates brain excitatory glutamate and inhibitory γ-aminobutyric acid (GABA) levels, including in brain regions linked to ASD, such as the basal ganglia (BG) and the dorsomedial prefrontal cortex (DMPFC). https://doi.org/10.1038/s41386-019-0333-8
