(-3, 6) is a point on a line with slope = 4
y-6 = 4(x+3)
y = 4x +12 +6
y = 4x + 18 is the equation for a line through (-3,6) with slope =4
if you have another point, such as for example, (-2, 10), plug those coordinates, y=10 x=-2 into the equation to see it's on the line
10 = 4(-2)+ 18= -8+18 = 10
10 = 10 so (-2,10) is on the line
