Many people suffer from reactions to outdoor air pollutants. These reactions may include asthma or other breathing difficulties, overall allergic responses that include sinus issues, watery eyes and itchy skin or even heart palpitations. Using one of the many Air Quality phone apps to easily asses the air quality in the city that you are living in is an excellent way to know what the dangers for you may be on a given day. The Air Quality index rates the air as either Green (good), Yellow (moderate), Orange (unhealthy for sensitive people) or Red (unhealthy). By understanding the air quality you can choose to stay home or at least limit the amount of time you spend outdoors. You can know to take your medications or nebulizers with you in case you have difficulties. You can wear a mask to help reduce your exposure. As it has been said...knowledge is power.
