I dont understand, Can someone please help?

The measure of one of the angles of a triangle is 35. The sum of the measures of the other two angles is 145 and the difference between their measures is 14. What are the measures of the unknown angles?

Note that the 2 angles are x and y. From what's given,. x + y = 145 (sum). And x - y = 14 (difference). Solve for x and y. This is my method below. (x + y) + (x - y) = 145 - 14. This obtains 2x = 131. This gets x = 65.5. Now to get y. Plug in x in x + y = 145. This gets 65.5 + y = 145. This renders y = 79.5. Hence, one angle is 65.5 and the other angle is 79.5
