Use two point form:
(y - 6) / (x - 3) = (-1 - 6) / (1 - 3)
Probably the fastest way is to use the definition of slope of a line: All (x,y) have to fit the slope of the line from (1,-1) to (3,6)
m = (y-(-1))/(x-1) = (6-(-1))/(3-1) = 7/2 Now, multiply both sides by x-1):
y+1 = 7/2 (x-1) (Another way to get to this equation is to find the slope from (6+1)/(3-1) and use the point slope form - this equation.)
If you need the slope-intercept form you can distribute the RHS and subtract one from both sides.
y = 7/2 x - 9/2
