If I had an 88% and got a 40% on my final exam that is worth 30% of my grade what will my new overall grade be?

Everything before you final exam is worth 70% of your final grade, so to find your final grade, you would calculate as follows:

final grade = (your score so far * how much it's worth) + (final exam score * what your final exam is worth)

your score so far: 88

how much it's worth: 70%

final exam score: 40

what your final exam is worth: 30%

----> final grade = (88 * 70%) + (40 * 30%) = 88 * 0.7 + 40 *0.3 = 61.6+12

If you plug this in your calculator, you should get 73.6
