asked 12/14/21Using this formula, compute the length of a rectangle with a perimeter of 40.2in and width of 6.7in.
the formula is
P= 24
L= 3+ W
P= 2L + 2W
24= 2 (3+W) + 2W
24= 6 + 2W + 2W
24= 6+ 4W
18 = 4W
W= 18/4 = 9/4 = 4.5
L= 3 + W= 3 + 4.5 = 7.5
what’s the answer & how can i show my work for this?

The steps I added are in bold
Given information:
P= 24
L= 3+ W
Formula for perimeter P= 2L + 2W
Substitute the values of P and L into the formula: 24 = 2 (3+W) + 2W
Distribute the 2: 24 = 2x3+2xW+2W
Simplify: 24= 6 + 2W + 2W
Combine like terms: 24= 6+ 4W
Subtract 6: -6 -6
18 = 4W
Divide by 4: W= 18/4 = 9/4 = 4.5
L= 3 + W= 3 + 4.5 = 7.5
