asked 12/09/21Graph the function f ( x ) = (1/5^x on the axes below

So, there are three approaches:
1) qualitative: Look for zeroes (numerator): none (never crosses x axis) function stays positive
Look for where the function is undefined (denominator zero): also doesn't happen
Look at behavior as x goes to +/- infinity: function goes to 0 at large positive x. For large negative x (which means 1/5-x = 5x), the function goes to infinity.
2) Brute force: make a table of x and y for x = -3,-2,-1, 0, 1,2 ,3 is more than enough to plot
3) Use desmos (online) or TI graphing calculator (You learn the least from this approach, but it's a good check)

Ah, no axis below. Is f(x) = (1/5)^x, or is f(x) = 1/(5^x). What prevents you from substituting values and plotting?12/09/21
