On this day 19th jan 1902, it was recorded that four adjacent commercial builds along Jefferson Avenue near the intersection with Shelby street in Detroit, each of this builds around 8:30pm in the evening collapsed and claimed lots of lives, An eye witness was of the opinion that if it had happened on a business day many lives wouldn’t have been affected.
