Middle school - College math tutor. I love math, and you can too!
You repeat things here; I assume the slope is -2, and there is a point at (-2,7)?
Let's use slope-intercept form, where m=slope, and b= the y-intercept. y=mx+b
Plugging in the slope, we get y=-2x+b.
Plugging in the coordinate pair (-2,7) for our (x,y), we get 7=-2(-2)+b. Simplify: 7=4+b. Subtract 4 from both sides to get 3=b.
Now that we have both m and b, we can write the equation: y=-2x+3.
I hope this helps, and have fun mathing! (Also, let me know if you have a question?)
