This kind of question is pretty quick to analyse and answer. For a parallel line, it must have the same slope. You can see that you have already been given the form of mx + b = y for the line-to-be-matched, so to speak. So, since the choices have mx + b = y format, that's all set up for you, right?
So, for the same slope, that value of m must match. Which it does for (a) and (b), but not for (c) or (d).
So, to see which of (a) or (b) it is, plug the given included point coordinates (4, -2) into each of those choices. The equality will be satisfied for one of the choices. That's your answer.
Note: if your choices had various types of line equation format, such as ax + by = c, or ax = b + cy, or various other ones, you would have to convert them into slope-intercept forms, to check them easily.
