For any line y = hx + k, where h is the slope and k is the y-intercept.
We are told that the line is parallel to y = 1/2x + 4, therefore it has the same slope. So the slope h is 1/2 for both lines.
Now we can use the slope 1/2 and the point (-6, 4) to find the equation of our line.
At point (-6, 4), -6 = x and 4 = x.
We just have to fill in the values for y = hx + k
at the point ( -6, 4)
4 = 1/2 (-6) + k
4 = -3 + k
4 + 3 = k
k = 7
So our line formula is y = (1/2)x + 7
