Question

The locus of the center of a circle 1 cm in diameter rolling around a circle that is 2 cm in diameter. Draw and describe the locus.

Desmos will allow you to answer this question quite nicely.

The locus is a circle of radius 0.5 cm centered at the center of the larger circle.

Note: the answer would be quite different if the question were the locus of a point on the circumference of the smaller circle!
