y=x^2+bx+c; (-3,-6) and i gotta find the unknown coefficients

Philip P.

You have two unknowns (b and c) and only one equation. You need another point to find both unknowns.

Is (-3, -6) a solution?

In addition, this is a most common mistakes of not only students but teachers as well. in the expression x^2+3x+1, the term 1 is just a term or constant term, not a coefficient and I can prove that. Unless, your teacher is using his own definition of the word coefficient but not using the standard definition.
