y-1 = 3(x-2) = -3x -6
y =3x-5 is the equation of the line in slope intercept form with slope =3 thru (2,1)
or
3x-y -5 = 0
in standard form
or
3x-y =5 in general form
slope = 3 = (y-1)/(x-2)
in point slope form
multiply by x-2 to get
y-1 = 3x -6
add one to both sides
y = 3x -5
check the answer, plug in the point (2,1) replacing x by 2 and y by 1
1=3(2)-5 = 6-5 = 1
