How many electrons are being transferred in the reaction below when the reaction is balanced?
(Cr2O4)^-2 + Cl^-3 -> Cr + Cl2

As mentioned in my "comment", I don't believe the equation as written is correct. I'm thinking that there will be 3 electrons transferred because Cr has an oxidation number of 3+ in Cr2O42- and zero in Cr, meaning that 3 electrons were transferred. Of course, without knowing the correct equation, I can't balance it, so this is just an educated guess at this point.
