non normal distribution for a linear mixed effect model analysis

I checked my outcome variable for normal distribution using Kolmogrov-Smirnov and Shapiro-Wilk tests and it was not normally distributed. and tried to do the log transformation and still turned out not normality distributed, so I am wondering if I can still use linear mixed effect model?

K-S test and Shapiro-Wilk test are the ideal tests for checking whether your data is normally distributed or not. If the results of the two tests concur then this clears any doubts. You can still perform linear mixed effect model to negate your claim but I believe the results should be the same. It's recommended to stick to the first two.
