You are choosing between two different cell phone plans. The first plan charges a rate of 22 cents per minute. The second plan charges a monthly fee of $29.95 in addition to 10 cents per minute. How many minutes would you have to use in a month in order for the second plan to be to the nearest minute.

.12m = 29.95

m = 29.95/.12 = 2995/12 = 249.58333...

if you use 250 or more minutes per month the 2nd plan is less expensive

if you use 249 or less minutes per month, the 1st plan is less expensive

.22 x 249 = $54.78

.22 x 250 = $55

29.95 + .10x249= 29.95+24.90 = $54.85

29.95 + .10x250 = 29.95+25 = $54.95

$54.85>$54.78 at 249 minutes plan 1 is cheaper

$55 >$54.95 at 250 minutes plan 2 is cheaper
