Math, microeconomics or criminal justice
jay wins the 100 yard dash in 30 seconds
That's 100/30 = 10/3 = 3 1/3 yards per second
Zeke was 10 yards behind doing 90 yards in 30 seconds which is 90/30 = 9/3 = 3 yards per second.
Zeke finishes the 100 yard dash in 33 1/3 seconds. In 3 1/3 seconds Zeke goes 10 yards 90+10 = 100 yards
Asafa Powell, from Jamaica, set the world record of 9.07 seconds for the hundred yard dash.
Average walking speed is about 5 mph which is about 2.4 yards per second. 100 yards at that speed would take 100/2.4 = about 41 seconds. 30 or 33 1/3 is maybe just a fast walk, not really running.
In international competitions, they don't do the 100 yard dash anymore. It's been replaced by the 100 meter dash.
Either way, 30 or 33 1/3 seconds isn't really a "dash," It's more of a trot or jog. Call it the 100 yard walk or stroll.
