a line with slope = m that passes through the point (1,-2)
is
(y-(-2))/(x-1) or
(y+2)/(x-1) = m that's in standard point slope form
y+2 = m(x-1) = mx - m
y = mx -m-2 where m= the slope and -m-2 = the y intercept
that's standard slope intercept form
or in ax+by + c standard form
it's mx - y -m-c = 0 where a=m b=-1 and c =-m-c
to get a more specific equation you need to either know the slope or know another point on the line.
with just one point, there're an infinite number of possible lines through that point
