Does the word "left" mean what he still have?

Tom has 8 marbles. He gave 4 marbles to Sally. How many marbles does he have left? May I know if asking 'how many marbles does he have left?' is the same as asking 'how many marbles does he still have?'' because "left" mean what he still have. Thanks a lot.

8-4=4 marbles left or remaining

same thing "Left" means those he still has, those still remaining in his possession

"Left" does not mean those on his left side, or in his left hand, as opposed to right side or hand

and does not mean Left wing, liberal, anti-conservative, progressive
