Question

A phone company charges its customers $50 or the first 500 minutes used each month. For any additional minutes used over the 500, the customer is charged an additional $.15 per minute.

 

How much would you be charged if you talked 650 minutes in one month?

50+ 150(.15) = 50+ 22.5= $72.50 for 650 minutes

$50 for first 500 minutes

$.15 per minute for the next 150 minutes = 150(.15) = $22.50

$50 + $22.50 = $72.50 for 650 minutes
