general equation for a circle is (x-h)^2 + (y-k)^2 = r^2 where (h,k) is the center and r=radius
the domain is from the left limit of the circle to the right limit's x coordinates: h-r to h+r
range is from the bottom to the top of the circle in y coordinates: k-r to k+r
or in interval notation, domain is [h-r, h+r] and range is [k-r, k+r]
any other x,y values are outside the circle
