on a one dimensional real number line draw an open dot at -7. then draw a dark line from the dot to the left and put an arrow at the end pointing left, to indicate the line goes forever. It's an open dot to indicate the line does not include the point -7.
in a 2 dimensional graph, draw a vertical dotted line at x=-7. It's dotted to indicate the solution does not include the line itself. Then shade in everything to the left of the dotted line. That's the solution set.
