is the equivalent of 3B/4 = 9

B= 9(4/3) = $12 a bushel

3/4 B = 9

1/4 B = 9/3 = 3

1 B = (3/4 B +1/4 B) = 9+3 =12

2/3 of B for $9

means 2B/3 = 9

B = 9(3/2) = 27/2 = $13.50 for a bushel

2/3 B = 9

1/3 B = 9/2 = 4.5

1 B = (2/3 +1/3)B = 9 +4.5 = 13.5

3/4 a bushel at $9 is the better deal

3/4 > 2/3

3/4 = 9/12

2/3 = 8/12

9/12 > 8/12

9>8

You're getting more apples for $9 with 3/4 a bushel than with 2/3 a bushel
