the constant term is the initial height = 7.5 meters
h(t) =-6.7t^2 +5t + 7.5 = 0 use the quadratic formula
t= -5/-13.4 + (1/6.7)sqr(25 +24(7.5)) = about 2.88 seconds to hit the water
height is = h(t) = -6.7t^2 +5t +7.5. set it = 0 to find when it hits the water. water level =0 at time t =0 h(t)=-6.7t^2 +5t+7.5 = -6.7(0)^2 + 5(0) + 7.5 = 0 + 0 + 7.5 = 7.5
5 meters per second = the initial velocity, 7.5 = initial height. -6.7t^2 is supposed to be the effect of gravity. but it's usually -4.9^2 when measured in meters = -4.9 meters per second per second = negative acceleration due to gravity. -6.7t^2 doesn't seem realistic. Unless there's a down wind, a suction pulling people downward for some reason. Maybe one team cheating somewhere, to throw divers off.
