For this one the Remainder Theorem may be of some use. You can look that up in your text or online. If you use this long division you my get a quadratic as one of your factors then you can apply solving the quadratic for x intercepts and the other (ax - r) for zeroes to see if they are real zeroes. You can also graph your function at Desmos.com to see the intercepts again check your text to make sure the intercepts meet the criteria for real zeroes.
