asked 06/27/21Algebra Equation
2x+3y=-3
3x-2y=28
solve
2 Answers By Expert Tutors
Multiply the first equation by 3 and the second by -2 to get:
6x + 9y = -9
-6x + 4y = -56
Adding the equations, we have 13y = -65
So, y = -5 and x = 6

Step 1:
3( 2x + 3y = -3)
-2( 3x - 2y = 28)
we now distribute to get: 6x +9y = -9
-6x + 4y = -56
Step 2:
we add them together and get 13y = -65
From there we get that y = -5
Step 3:
We now plug in the y-value to either equation to find our x-value.
2x + 3y = -3
2x + 3(-5) = -3
2x -15 =-3
2x = 12
x = 6
our solutions are x = 6 and y = -5
