Please help! Algebra 2!!

1.) What is the inverse of y = sin x? Give the equation.

Andrew D.

It can be difficult to find inverses of functions, but if you remember that composing a function and its inverse gives the independent variable back out [eg: f^-1(f(x)) = x], then you can work out what an inverse is even if you can't remember the function off the top of your head. In other words, what can you replace x with in order for y to equal x? In this case however, you'll have to at least know of the inverse trigonometric functions (ie: arcsin, arccos, arctan, etc.).
