The printer charges a fixed setup cost plus a charge for every copy of single-page flyers. Find a function that describes the cost of a printing job, if x  is the number of copies made. C(x)=

5500 = S +200F subtract 1st equation from the 2nd to eliminate one variable

2000 = 150F

F = 2000 /150= 200/15 - 40/3 = 13 1/3 cents per flyer

S = 3500-(40/3)(50) = $28.33 1/3 set up cost

C(x) = 28.333... + 40x/3 or

C(x) = 8500/3 + (40/3)x
