If you want 7/8 mile and then jog 3/5 mile. what is the total distance covered? how much further did you walk then jog?

7/8+3/5 = 35/40 +24/40 = 59/40= 1 19/40 miles = 1.475 miles, almost one and a half miles= total distance walked and jogged.

7/8-3/5 =35/40-24/40 = 11/40 = .275 miles more walking than jogging = a litter over a quarter mile more
