roll of 40 quarters
each quarter has diameter 2.4 cm and thickness 1.5 mm = .15 cm
what is the volume and surface area of the roll of quarters?
Volume = V = Lpir^2 where L= Length of the roll, and r = radius of the roll
Length = 40x.15 = 6 cm
radius = 2.4/2 = 1.2 cm
V =6pi(1.44) = 8.64pi cm^3
= about 8.64(3.14) = 27.13 cm^3
surface area = A = 2pirL + 2pir^2= 14.4pi + 2(1.2^2)pi
= 14.4pi + 2.88pi
= 17.28pi cm^2
= about 17.28(3.14)
= 54.26 cm^2
