This question has a lot of answers. I think the most profound effect it had on everyone was the fact that it exposed how wartime hysteria led to the disregard of civil liberties and racism, as over 120,000 Japanese Americans were forcibly removed from their homes. The unjustness of internment camps led to postwar human rights awareness, this was a big step towards battling racism. On an international level, it led to conversations about war crimes, reparations, and treatment of civilians during wartimes. This influenced policies and conventions on human rights.
