If the length of a rug on a scale drawing is 6cm and the width is 4cm, what is the area of the actual rug? Use a scale factor of 1/30. The answer has to be converted into metres squared.

1 m = 100 cm

180cm by 120 cm = 1.8 m by 1.2 m

Area = 1.8(1.2) = 9/5(6/5) =54/25 = 2 4/25 = 2.16 square meters

Area = 2.16 m^2
