1) As temperature decreases, the curve becomes lower everywhere, especially at smaller wavelengths, and the peak shifts to the right. Wien's Law gives wavelength of maximum = 2,900 μm K / T, yielding 0.76 μm (just into the infrared part of the spectrum) when T = 3800 K, as opposed to 0.60 μm at 4800 K.
2) Visible light ranges from about 0.4 to 0.7 μm as seen in the diagram.
