y= x/2 -8. multiply by 2
2y =x -16 subtract x from both sides
-x +2y =-16 probably multiply by -1 to get, it looks "cleaner" with one less
negative sign
x -2y = 16 A=1, B=-2, C=16
(IF you wanted to be very picky, hyper-technical, the way you wrote the equation as
y=1/2x -8, it reads y=1/(2x) - 8, which can't be rewritten in a standard form like Ax+By = C. But it's fairly obvious you intended to write y=(1/2)x-8. Still, if you follow PEMDAS order of operations, that's not how you wrote it)

Thank you for your help. Yeah, I meant to write it as (1/2)x. The x was not for 2 as in 2x. It was for the whole fraction. I appreciate the help!05/07/21
