A ball is kicked 5 feet above the ground with an initial vertical velocity of 50 feet per second. The function h(t)=−16t^2+50t+5 represents the height h(in feet) of the ball after t seconds. Using a graph, after how many seconds is the ball 32 feet above the ground? Round your answers to the nearest tenth.

h(t) represents the height of the ball at any time t. The question is asking at what time, t, the height is equal to 32 feet.
This should help you understand the set up: h(t) = 32
The question says "after how many seconds" which signifies that you should be solving for t.
solve: -16t^2+50t+5 = 32
There are many ways to solve this Quadratic equation, but the question requires you to solve it graphically. If you put h(t) into y1 on your calculator and 32 into y2 on your calculator, you can view both graphs at the same time on a good viewing window (only positive x values and y-values) and use the intersect function on the calculator (2nd trace 5.Intersect) to calculate the value of x (or in this case t) when h(t) intersects with y = 32.
Hope this helps! If you are not familiar with the intersect function on your calculator, use YouTube and you will find something!
