This is more a conceptual question, since the math portion of the problem is already done for you.
For part 5, It is asking you to think about the answers of -0.07 and 3.82 seconds. Does it make sense to you that the ball could have hit the ground in -0.07 seconds, a negative amount of time? You could think of it as though the ball hit the ground before the batter even hit the ball.
The question is also reminding you that the quadratic formula, can sometimes give answers that are nonsensical in a real-world context.
For part 6, it is asking you to conclude which of the answers is valid, both -0.07 and 3.82 seconds, or just one of them?
