A=bh/2 = 3(5)/2 = 15/2 = 7.5 = 7 1/2 = area of the triangle with base 3, height 5.
the area of a triangle is the height times the base divided by 2: 7.5
(you probably didn't intend to mean literally the way you wrote the formula though. You have A=1/2b+h which technically would be 1/2(3) +5 = 1/6+5 = 5 1/6, but if that's what you meant, no one has ever seen a formula for area like that. You might also have meant A=1/(2b+h) or A=1/2(b+h), which would give A=1/11 or 1/16, but A=(1/2)bh is almost certainly what you intended to write. Unless you're copying the problem from an instructor who might be trying to give you a trick question.)
