A group of 5 friends hosts a progressive 3-course meal each month, where a different person is responsible for each of an appetizer, a main course and a dessert. How many months could they make different assignments before the same combination would be repeated?

all depends on how many different appetizers how many different main courses and how many different desserts there are.

if just one of each, then the 2nd month will repeat the 1st month
