14C + 13(3.4) = (13+C)(8.49)

solve for C = 12.009

The weight of the snack mix is c + 13.

 

14c + 3.40(13) = 8.49(c + 13)

14c + 44.2 = 8.49c + 110.37

5.51c = 66.17

c = 12 lbs
