Change the sign of the slope and flip the fraction upside down, then the lines are perpendicular. flip 4/1 upside down to get 1/4 then change its sign from + to - to get -1/4.

The first line has a slope of 4. (which can be written as 4/1). The second line has a slope of -1/4. When slopes of lines are negative reciprocals (which is just a fancy way of saying flip the fraction 4/1 and make it negative), the lines are perpendicular, (which means they meet at a right angle). I hope that makes sense! :)
