OR maybe you really meant the input = 4 more than twice the output

or the output = 4 more than twice the input

then you would get x=4+2y or y=4+2x

y=4+2x would be f(x) = 4+2x

x+4+2y would be f(x)= (x-4)/2 = x/2 -2
